Basic earnings per share rose to US$3,12c from US$2,82c per share, Colcom reported in financial statements released yesterday. Full year revenue rose 10 percent to US$46,2 million from US$41,9 million last year.
Profit after tax came in at US$6,14 million from US$5,86 million a year earlier.
Colcom, which also processes pork and beef products, cold meats and canned foods, said the high cost of electricity and water as well as the use of outdated equipment impacted margins.
The group has invested US$3,4 million in capital expenditure and expansion projects that would result in improved capacity utilisation.
