This only applies to two categories as follows:
Written Poetry: Theme is Health Conversations.
Fine Arts (Drawing): Theme is Health Conversations.
For the theme, learners can check, for inspiration: www.10conversations.net
Winning entries on this category will be published in the health conversations website above.
The rest of the competition is open ended. This means students can perform on any subject of their choice, on the actual day in the following categories:
-Acting
-Performance Poetry
-Comedy
-Singing
-Dance
Students will compete in the performance poetry, dance, singing, acting and comedy categories.
Schools can compete in all categories, but cannot register more than two acts per category. This is to ensure that only the best that a school has to offer is showcased.
Each act will also have no more than three minutes on stage. Contestants can either be individuals, a duo or group acts.
The best overall acts in each category will receive a prize of $50 in each of the seven categories while second and third best will receive $30 and $20 respectively. Each of these will be accompanied by a certificate, a trophy and a book.
The overall winner regardless of category (the Most Outstanding student artiste), will in addition to the above receive $150 and the overall trophy.
ANTS winners will also be supported to compete in the Zimbabwe Championship of the Performing Arts, an affiliate of the World Championships of the Performing Arts which takes place in Hollywood every July of each year.
Registration on 29 July will start at 7.30am at the school, with actual performances starting at 9am.
Albert was last year appointed Zim Health Goodwill Ambassador alongside Oliver Mtukudzi, hence the theme Health
Conversations for the written poetry and fine arts categories.
Come 29 July I will be at Msiteli to support our students as they show case their talents. Until next week, be safe. @nkuenkala
