Comedian Mabla 10 (Lloyd Kurima) says giving musicians cameo roles in his “Bag Rabvaruka” series has popularised his production and inspired him to approach other celebrities beyond music for his next productions. The comedian, who is part of Jah Prayzah’s Third Generation Band, has given his boss roles in his previous productions. He has also worked with Alick Macheso, Suluman Chimbetu and Peter Moyo. Moyo’s band members that include Tendai “Yamathele” Chapatarongo and Great Njanji, popularly known as “Officer”, have also featured in the series.

Jah Prayzah’s manager Filda Muchabaiwa prominently features in the production as Mai Shinda while socialite Monica “Sele” Chikasha got a role in the latest part of the series, “Bag Rabvaruka 3”.

Mabla 1o applauded musicians for agreeing to take part in his comedy.

“The musicians’ appearances have popularised the production and I am happy with the response to our series. I am looking forward to working with popular business people and soccer players, among other celebrities, in my next productions,” he said.

Macheso, Moyo, Chiakasha and Njanji feature in “Bag Rabvaruka 3” that was released recently.

Macheso features as younger brother to notorious Sekuru Zvambu (Jabulani Sigauke) who nearly faces the wrath of the public after being caught peeping into a neighbour’s bathroom while his wife is bathing.

In pleading for mercy,Sekuru Zvambu says he wants his brothers Alick and Oliver to intervene. The angry mob releases him after realising that Macheso is the Alick Mentioned as the notorious old man’s brother.

“As humanitarian ambassador for Red Cross, Macheso fits well in the role as he manages to reconcile people,” said Mabla 10.

“Moyo, on the other hand is popularly known as Igwe (Chief) and he was given the role of a chief to preside over the trial of serial female rapists among them Mai Shinda.”

The comedy explores various issues that are affecting ordinary people in the society among them corruption, rape and murder. Njanji replaces Officer Shinda in the series, who has been fired as a gesture against corruption. Besides writing and directing the comedies, Mabla 10 has also starred in numerous street theatre and television productions as well as Jah Prayzah’s videos for the songs “Sungano”, “Maria” and “Yambuka Rukova”.

The former Glen View High 1 student has produced five comedy productions namely “Bag Remhosva”, “Vamwe Vanhu”and “Bag Rabvaruka” 1, 2 and 3.

The latest production comes on the back of the success of Bag Rabvaruka 2, which features Chimbetu, Moyo, Yamathele and Jah Prayzah.
Bag Rabvaruka 3 has joined other popular dramas on the market including “Sabhuku Vharazipi”, “Landlord”, “Gringo The Troublemaker” and “Fidelis” among others.
