THE Communist Party of China (CPC) has reaffirmed its commitment to improving people’s livelihoods and ensuring that governance delivers tangible benefits to citizens.
As the party’s Central Committee meeting ended today in Beijing, it adopted a resolution on persevering with full and rigorous party self-governance, emphasising the need to strengthen ties with the people and improve its capacity to lead national development.
The resolution highlights the CPC’s commitment to serving the people and advancing China’s development through effective leadership, institutional accountability and the implementation of policies that respond to public needs.
In a communique released soon after the meeting, the CPC said the party’s historic achievements were rooted in its commitment to the people, noting that its success lay in “seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation.”
It further stressed the need to maintain close ties with citizens, stating that the party must “maintain the Party’s advanced nature and purity” while strengthening its capacity to lead reform and development.
The CPC’s focus on people-centred governance dovetails with resolutions adopted at this year’s ZANU PF’s National People’s Conference earlier this month, where the ruling party called for Government policies and programmes to translate into tangible improvements in the lives of Zimbabweans.
ZANU PF has emphasised economic development, job creation, food security, infrastructure development and empowerment as key priorities in advancing the country’s development agenda.
Both parties have underscored the importance of ensuring their policy positions are translated into practical outcomes, with effective implementation central to achieving their respective development objectives.
The CPC plenary also emphasised strengthening party organisations, improving officials’ conduct and ensuring that party members uphold their responsibilities in advancing national development.
The meeting further resolved that the CPC’s 21st National Congress would be held in Beijing in the second half of 2027.
The CPC and ZANU PF share longstanding historical and political ties, with both parties asserting the leading role and supremacy of the ruling party over Government in guiding national policy and development.
