CAPS stand in Scottland’s way

SCOTTLAND face CAPS United at Rufaro today in a match that could decide the destiny of the Castle Premiership title.

The champions, who are on 61 points and trail Hardrock by eight points, must win to keep their hopes alive.

They have 12 points to play for while Hardrock can win both their remaining two games and still win the title.

CAPS United, on 51 points, still have a chance of ending the season in the top four.

Our reporters at Rufaro Stadium will be bringing you updates from that game.

UPDATE :

Priority is top four – Chiragwi

CAPS United coach Takesure Chiragwi has made it clear that the giants’ priority is to break into the top four rather than derail the latter’s charge at the championship.

“Yeah, football is always about expression. Football, the pressure that we have in football, it’s about playing to win. Every time we prepare to win every game that we play,” said Chiragwi.

“Though football has got three results, the most precious and important result is for us to win, rather than the other two results – to draw and to lose a match.”

UPDATE :

Scottland’s loud silence

SINCE they sacked coach Norman Mapeza after the CAF Champions League exit in Angola, Scottland have been working behind the scenes to steady the ship.

Peter Ndlovu, who is now coach on an interim basis, will lead Scottland for the first time this afternoon against CAPS.

The champions have, however, not been able to escape the spotlight, and the controversial audio featuring CAPS United goalkeeper Washington Arubi has been one of the talking points.

Although the club did not comment, today they have broken their silence, albeit in a subtle way.

“The rise. The day has finally arrived! Exit the drama, enter the football,” the club posted on their socials.

Scottland must win against CAPS United to cut the gap between them and log leaders Hardrock to five points.Kick-off is 3pm.
