Residents of Ward 18 in Insiza North gathered at PBS Hall on Wednesday for an interactive engagement centred on Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB3), with discussions focusing on Vision 2030, grassroots development and community empowerment initiatives.
The meeting was organised by Ward 18 Councillor Cde Jostinah Ndondo and attended by ZANU-PF Ward 18 Chairlady Cde Florence Mntambo, Secretary Cde Tolika Nzuzo, Commissar Cde Rodar Ncube, war veterans, village heads, VIDCO chairpersons and agricultural advisors. Insiza North legislator Delani Moyo sent his apologies due to prior commitments.
The gathering featured discussions on key clauses contained in CAB3, particularly proposals relating to term extension and indirect voting systems.
Residents were encouraged to embrace an industrial and development-oriented mindset in support of Vision 2030.

“God blesses those who work hard with their hands,” participants heard during the meeting. “Let our First Secretary of ZANU PF, His Excellency President ED Mnangagwa, along with MPs and councillors, complete the projects they have initiated through to 2030. Term extension is enough to see them through.”
The engagement was accompanied by the launch of several community empowerment projects and donations.
A piggery project comprising four piglets was introduced for the ward under the supervision of the local councillor. In addition, US$500 was handed over, with US$300 earmarked for a ward project and US$200 allocated towards completion of floor tiling works at the hall.
War veterans received US$300 to initiate income-generating projects as well as four Spark Starter solar lights valued at US$102 each.
A further 26 village heads and VIDCO leaders also received Spark Starter solar lights supplied through Virl Company agent Mrs Ntombikayise Mangena, bringing the total number distributed to 30.

The Sikhanyisiwe Women’s Goat Project Club, which was established last year with initial funding of US$100 and currently has five goats, received an additional US$200 to expand operations.
Cde Phineas Majozi received two piglets and was tasked with extending the programme to three other residents once the pigs multiply.
Attendees also received refreshments, while Cde Shadreck Tshabangu was given US$100 in recognition of family ties with the organisers.
Participants concluded the meeting by emphasising the importance of community-driven development and self-reliance.
“No foreigner will come to build our nation. Let us focus on Vision 2030,” residents said.
The gathering forms part of ongoing grassroots empowerment initiatives in Insiza North, where poultry and piggery projects are being expanded into neighbouring wards.
Residents also acknowledged ongoing development projects in the area, including the Constituency Development Fund-supported construction of Msudu Clinic in Ward 18.
