BARELY a season after making their debut appearance in the ZIFA Northern Region Division One, Concession United could not last the distance after they were expelled from the league yesterday.

The community owned side struggled for finances which resulted in them failing to fulfil four league matches.

The team donated 12-points on a 3-0 winning aggregate.

ZIFA Northern Region chairman Martin Kweza said they could not continue entertaining the team.

Promoted from Mashonaland Central Division Two B last year, Concession United could not win a single encounter in the 18 games they played while managing four draws. In a statement Kweza said it is regrettable that they have decided to part ways with Concession United.

“Regrettably we write to advise that we have since expelled Concession United Football Club from the league with immediate effect for failure to fulfil their league matches and other match related expenses.

“The Northern Region Soccer League, Rules and Regulations provides for the automatic expulsion of a club once it fails to fulfil three of its league matches. Concession United Football Club, have failed to fulfil four of its league matches and is duly expelled from the league in terms Article… E 5.9 of the rules and Regulations.

“The points tally gained or lost for all fixtures against Concession United Football Club will be retained and all their outstanding matches will be awarded on a three-nil score line. This decision has been taken in the best interest of the league,” stated Kweza.
