The Politburo meeting will be followed tomorrow by a Central Committee meeting at the same venue.

On Thursday, delegates will start arriving at Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT), the conference venue in Mashonaland West Province.

The official opening of the conference will be held on Friday, while the closing ceremony will be on Saturday.

Zanu PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa, said the 23rd Annual National People’s Conference is set to be a pivotal event that reinforces ZANU PF’s commitment to delivering results and improving the lives of all Zimbabweans.

“The conference is a massive, multi-layered event designed to demonstrate party unity, review progress, and set the agenda for the coming year.”

He said all systems are in place, with accommodation and transport logistics finalised.

“There will be Politburo meeting on Tuesday October 13, 2026. On Wednesday, October 13, 2026, there will be a Central Committee meeting. Thursday, October 15, will see the arrival of delegates from all provinces across the country.

Cde Mutsvangwa said the conference is designed to be a working session with several significant highlights designed to deliver tangible outcomes:

The conference is being held under the theme, “From Resolutions to Results: Consolidating Economic Development and Deepening Empowerment towards Vision 2030”.

The theme underscores the party’s commitment to translating its policy decisions into measurable development outcomes for the people of Zimbabwe.

President Mnangagwa, as the First Secretary of the Party, will deliver a comprehensive address and present a report on the Government’s performance over the past year.

“This serves as a key accountability mechanism to ensure the Party’s mandate is being fulfilled.

“Commissioning of Development Projects: The Conference will serve as a platform to showcase and commission projects that benefit the host province. Key highlights include the commissioning of an oxygen manufacturing plant at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital and the groundbreaking ceremony for the 28-hectare Trabablas City urban development project” he outlined.

The event is expected to attract approximately 7 500 delegates, making it a significant gathering of the party’s leadership and structures.

Based on the stated objectives and the Party’s focus, the Conference is expected to deliver policy direction for economic growth:

“The primary expectation is that the conference will produce concrete strategies for accelerating economic development and deepening empowerment, in line with the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) and the goal of achieving an upper-middle-income society by                                                                 2030”.

Cde Mutsvangwa said the conference is not just a political event but also an economic catalyst for Chinhoyi.

The influx of visitors to Chinhoyi- the provincial capital of Mashonaland West is expected to boost local businesses in the hospitality, transport, and retail sectors.

As has become the norm, a business expo will run concurrently with the conference.
