Congolese people are ready for peace:Joseph Kabila

Former DRC President Joseph Kabila says the Congolese people are ready to find peace in their country.

Kabila says he had meetings with various stakeholders in the country and they want to work for peace.

He met former President Thabo Mbeki at the Thabo Mbeki Foundation in Johannesburg to discuss.

“‘We are ready to work and still work for peace, actively work for peace and that was our attitude 22 years ago when we came to Sun City. Our attitude today, more informed, is differently and stand up again and be on the move and work for peace in any capacity.”

Kabila has called on the Congolese to stop blaming other countries for their own problems. He says the crisis in Congo is internal and can only be dealt with by its citizens.

He welcomed a

“Congo cannot continue to be this crybaby in the region talking about how weak it is and how strong everybody else is. To me, it’s not the right approach but as a Congolese what interests me and what interests the Congolese people is how do we deal with the situation ourselves.”
