THE Zanu-PF leadership in Matabeleland South has urged Zimbabweans to continue putting their trust in the revolutionary party and voting for it to ensure continued peace and development.
The ruling party recently held its victory celebrations in Madlambudzi area in Bulilima District where hundreds of supporters thronged the venue.
Zanu-PF resoundingly won last year’s polls where President Mnangagwa thrashed opposition candidates, while Cde Dingumuzi Phuti won the Parliamentary seat for Bulilima, with Cde Siphosenkosi Moyo as the ward councillor also coming tops.
The victory celebrations were attended by the provincial bigwigs, among them Zanu-PF Matabeleland South provincial chairman, Nqobizitha Ndlovu, who is also the Industry and Commerce Minister, Zanu-PF Matabeleland South Women’s League secretary for security and Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister, Dr Evelyn Ndlovu, Zanu-PF War Veterans League political commissar, Cde Ntombiyakhe Ndlovu, central committee member Cde Mkhuleko Nleya, former Bulilima East legislator Cde Mathias Siqhoza Ndlovu, Chief Madlambudzi and Headman Mbimba.
Provincial chairperson, Cde Ndlovu, who was the guest of honour at the event, said no villager will die of hunger under the watch and stewardship of President Mnangagwa.
“We are aware of the drought, which affected most parts of the province and in some places countrywide and in that regard, President Mnangagwa has assured that no one will die of hunger, no matter what,” he said.
“Food aid is on its way and it is set to be distributed till next year and since the declaration of the drought as a national disaster, people are going to receive food aid backdated three months as the listening Government led by President Mnangagwa ensures that everyone is well fed, the elderly and the vulnerable,” said Cde Ndlovu.
Dr Evelyn Ndlovu said Government has set strategies meant to mitigate the effects of drought to every villager and farmer.
“We have a programme as the province where we are going to drill boreholes under the Presidential scheme in all villages and we are also working flat out to address the issue of drought to farmers,” she said.
“In that manner, we are working with Masvingo province and the Ministry of Agriculture, to source haystack that will be provided to the affected farmers,” said Dr Ndlovu.
Cde Phuti said the victory celebrations were meant to inspire the electorate to continue voting for Zanu-PF as it brings about meaningful reforms in the country.
“We are here to celebrate the victory of President Mnangagwa because you entrusted him to lead the country as he has proved that his vision is filled with developments that bring change and growth in societies,” he said.
“President Mnangagwa’s rule is filled with peace and harmony where he is uniting societies in the country and beyond. We have seen new members joining Zanu-PF because they have seen a party that speaks with actions,” said Cde Phuti. — @mthabisi_mthire.
