A VIOLENT teenage girl from Southlea Park has been jailed for 15 years after launching a brutal and indecent assault on a 17-year-old girl in a shocking case that has left the community reeling.
The 18-year-old convict, whose name has been withheld to protect the victim, was found guilty by the Mbare Magistrates’ Court following the disturbing incident that took place on 18 May 2025.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the teen slapped the victim several times, forcefully stepped on her neck, and shoved a cooking stick into the victim’s private parts in an act the court described as deeply indecent and non-consensual.
The assailant went on a psychotic rampage, destroying the victim’s personal belongings, including a Huawei Y7 cellphone, clothes, and undergarments. “The violent nature of the acts, combined with the clear intention to cause harm, led the court to impose a 15 year effective prison sentence,” said the NPAZ.
The authority said the case is a reminder of the need for community vigilance, the importance of protecting victims, and the firm hand of justice against those who inflict harm especially in domestic or family settings.
