Cop-kissing bus driver sentenced

A rogue bus driver who could not take charge of his hormones, hugging and kissing two uniformed police officers in public will do 105 hours of community service.

The detestable incident occurred at Bulawayoa��s Long Distance bus terminus in Makokoba on 23 August at around 4pm.

Khumbulani Ngwenya (30) met two female police officers, Constable Loreen Chipangura and Constable Priscah Ngaziitwe on their way home and blocked their way, hugged and kissed them one after the other in full view of the public.

For his stunt Ngwenya was dragged before a Bulawayo magistrate Adelaide Mbeure facing two counts of indecent assault as defined in Section 67 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act Chapter 9:23.

He pleaded not guilty to both counts but was convicted due to overwhelming evidence.

Mbeure sentenced Ngwenya to six months in prison of which three months were suspended on condition of good behaviour.

The remaining three months were suspended provided he performs 105 hours of community service at Mahlathini Primary school.
