COP TURNS POLICE STATION INTO GANJA DEN: Officer found with drug stash

B-Metro Reporter

A GWANDA cop was arrested after he turned his room at a police station into a ganja den.
Instead of enforcing the law, Knowledge Maphosa (32) decided to study the syllabus of street wisdom complete with dagga and a smoking pipe inside police premises.

The Gwanda Magistrates’ Court convicted the police officer of unlawful possession of dangerous drugs after detectives acted on a juicy tip off that the lawman had turned his room into a mini chill spot.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), on 29 December 2025 police detectives in Gwanda received information that the offender who is a police officer was keeping dangerous drugs inside his room located within police premises.
Talk about studying at home.

The following day officers knocked not to salute but to search. The law enforcement officers went to the offender’s room and conducted a search which led to the recovery and seizure of dagga with a street value of ZiG120 as well as a J pipe used for smoking crystal methamphetamine.

Knowledge was immediately arrested before he could light up another lesson.
In court the once uniformed law enforcer swapped authority for accountability and was fined US$300 or three months in jail if he fails to cough up the cash.
