THE Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) has announced the postponement of the 2025 COSAFA Women’s Championship, citing the unavailability of a host nation as the primary reason for the delay.
In a circular addressed to participating member associations, COSAFA confirmed that the organization is currently in discussions with several potential hosts in a bid to secure a venue that meets the tournament’s standards.
Originally scheduled for 2025, the tournament is now expected to take place in the first quarter of 2026. COSAFA assured stakeholders that further details regarding the rescheduled championship will be communicated in due course.
“We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work to maintain the high standards of women’s football within our region,” the statement concluded.
The COSAFA Women’s Championship has become a cornerstone event in Southern African football, providing a vital platform for the development and recognition of female talent across the region.
