Council warns tuck-shop owners

THE Harare City Council has given an ultimatum to all illegal tuck-shop owners to remove their structures  before February 18.

In a notice on their Twitter page, the city council said there were residents taking advantage of the lockdown to build illegally.

The operation to remove the structures will also extend to houses that have been built without approval.

“Some of the illegal structures are on road verges and public spaces.

“The unsightly structures are not helping, especially when it rains because some of the structures are causing flooding as they block runoff,” reads part of the statement.

Council has also announced that it will start demolitions of illegal structures at its Crowborough paddocks in April.
