A COUPLE from Bulawayo allegedly ganged up and assaulted the man’s girlfriend after the woman invited her to their house so that the husband could choose who he loved.

A court heard that Allan Dube (31) who is a technician, allegedly punched and kicked his girlfriend Ms Mandiedza Mushonga (30) while his wife Brittan Lanassia Nicole assaulted her using a piece of wire.

Nicole had invited Ms Mushonga to the family house saying she wanted Dube to choose who he loved between them.

Dube and Nicole both pleaded not guilty to assault charges before Bulawayo magistrate, Ms Sharon Rosemani.

They were remanded to December 28 on $50 bail each.

The couple’s bail conditions are that they should not interfere with state witnesses and should not visit the complainant at her place.

The pair was also ordered to report at Hillside Police Station every Friday.

Prosecuting, Mr Mclean Ndlovu alleged that on September 21, this year at around 6PM Ms Mushonga went to Dube’s place of residence after she was invited by Nicole so that Dube could choose who he loved between them.

“Upon arrival at his place of residence, Dube denied that he was in a relationship with Ms Mushonga. He allegedly punched his girlfriend several times and kicked her all over the body. Nicole also grabbed a piece of wire and assaulted Ms Mushonga,” said Mr Ndlovu.
