A Harare regional magistrate court has cleared NetOne chief executive officer Engineer Raphael Mushanawani of fraud charges involving US$1.2 million.

Eng Mushanawani applied for the revocation of his placement on remand before Harare regional magistrate Mrs Marehwanazvo Gofa, arguing that his arrest and prosecution violated his rights because there was no wrongdoing on his part.

The application was granted on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

In her findings, Mrs Gofa said all the accusations the State was pressing against Eng Mushanawani were an open secret to the company. She said the NetOne boss’s principals were aware of all the system upgrades.

Mrs Gofa said there was no evidence linking Eng Mushanawani to the said offence and removed him from remand.
