Cowdray Park residents to map way forward on Satanists saga

over confessions of an alleged Satanist that have brought fear in the suburb.

Churches in the area have set 27 October as a day of prayer to “cleanse” the suburb.

Tension continues to mount with a number of residents saying they no longer want to associate with parishioners of a church who the girl said belonged to the cult.

A 16-year-old girl from the suburb dropped a bombshell last month alleging that some church leaders were part of her satanic cult that had killed 38 people in the suburb.

She said the cult members ate human flesh and drank human blood.

In an interview yesterday, the councillor for the area, Clr Collet Ndhlovu called for tolerance.

“There should be no violence. I appeal to residents not to get emotional over yet to be proved issues. People have been demanding the addresses of the alleged Satanists. Some are saying they no longer trust their neighbours,” said Clr Ndhlovu.

He urged residents to be careful because issues of Satanism could not be easily proved in court.

“It is a crime in this country to accuse someone of being a Satanist. One can go to jail for a long time because it is difficult to have evidence that is needed in court regarding spiritual issues. I call for tolerance and peace while authorities handle the issue,” he said.

Clr Ndhlovu said a residents’ meeting will be held at Mahlathini Primary School at 10am on Sunday to discuss the matter.

“Everyone should come to the meeting because it is very important. If we do not address the issue now, regrettable consequences might follow,” said the councillor.

In separate interviews yesterday, some residents said they were now afraid of their neighbours.

“I am afraid to sleep at night because you will never know what will happen. We have read in the story that these people can suck blood from living people in broad daylight without being seen,” said Mrs Nomuhle Chikadzi.

An Apostolic Faith Sect preacher, Madzibaba Zhukino, said people should not fight because that was what the Satanists wanted.

“When people start hating their neighbours, it becomes easier for Satanists to further infiltrate the suburb and cause more chaos. We should all unite and pray hard to end this,” said Madzibaba Zhukino.

The 16-year-old girl alleged that the cult had recruited schoolchildren.

She said the Satanists used the children to kill their parents because they could not get to parents who prayed regularly.
