NEWLY-PROMOTED Division One side Cranborne Bullets received a shot in the arm when they were handed two full kits worth $6 000 by financial services provider FMC Capital on Thursday. The team have been in the wilderness for 18 years and returned into Division One after they won the 2015 Harare Province promotion. Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, Brigadier-General Ephias Mahachi hailed their partnership with the corporate world.
“I am humbled to be part of this event and I am happy that the team Cranbone Bullets have managed to return to Division One since 1998. I hope this will work as a motivator as the team looks ahead to seek promotion to the top-flight league. We promise the sponsors that we will work hard and do our best to see the team do well in the league.
“We were once in the league in 1992 but were relegated only to return in 1998 but now we are here to stay,” Mahachi said. FMC Financial Services, who were represented by Allan Chidawarima, said they were happy to partner the ZNAas they are one of their best clients.
“We observed that sport is a unifier and partnering ZNA is a noble gesture for us and we hope the relationship will grow. We look forward to a very long relationship and if the need arises we will be open to negotiate with ZNA,” Chidawarim said.
ZIFA Northern Region chairman Willard Manyengavana pleaded with army teams to be flexible for people who attend their home matches as some officials manning the entry points were always harassing the fans.
