THE grand finale of the Creative Diversity and Social Inclusion (Credisi) tomorrow will observe a minute of silence for the late artistes, Iyasa founding and longest serving member –Sibonisiwe “Bonnie” Sithole and rap king Cal Vin.
The artistes were outstanding and both contributed immensely to city’s arts and that of the country.
Cal Vin last performed at Credisi in June alongside voice vixen Mimmie, Msiz’Kay, Sungura Masters and Beast through an online show that was broadcast live on Iyasa’s Facebook page. Bonnie on the other hand, performed last year at shows that took place at Entumbane Hall and Stanley Hall in Makokoba. She was part of the Iyasa Queens that shared the stage with Ezimnyama Queens, Gugue, Lady Tshawe and Bambanani Traditional Dance group.
The two artistes will be remembered at the last show of Credisi that will be shown on Facebook tomorrow night.
“We’ll take time to honour Sibonisiwe Sithole and Cal Vin during the show. Cal Vin’s last performance was on the Credisi stage. We haven’t changed the line-up so we are still bringing the same acts on stage. We’re promising a memorable Credisi finale,” said Credisi press and publicity officer Kudakwashe Takundwa.
Artistes set to grace the stage on the night are Nkayi Maskandi musician Clopas Sikhosana, Indosakusa: The Morning Star, rhumba/tshibilika artistes Madlela Skhokhobobo, Clement Magwaza, Bolamba Culture Birds and Ceejay; Asaph, house songstresses Sandra Ndebele and Novuyo Seagirl; gospel musician Vuyo Brown, vocalist and guitarist Samuzik and kwaito star “President wama2k” Tebza. – @mthabisi_mthire.
