THE stage is set for the crack of leather on willow as the 2025/26 domestic cricket season bursts into life this weekend with two clashes to kick things off.
In Bulawayo, the mighty Tuskers will lock horns with Southern Rocks at Queens Sports Club, while over in Kwekwe, Rhinos square off against Eagles in what promises to be a thrilling start to the Logan Cup campaign.
Defending champions Mountaineers, who ruled both the Logan Cup and Pro50 Championship last season, will sit out the opening week, sharpening their claws for a fierce title defence later this month.
After the red-ball battles, teams will switch focus to the Pro50 Championship, with matches lined up for 31 October at the same venues. Mountaineers will begin their title defence against Tuskers at Queens, while Rhinos take on Southern Rocks in Kwekwe.
The action will then roll through November and early December with back-to-back fixtures across Mutare, Harare, Masvingo and Bulawayo. Each team will be looking to make an early statement before the festive break.
