THE domestic cricket league is scheduled to get underway tomorrow with the Pro50 championship, before action turns to the Logan Cup competition on Tuesday. Defending champions in both the Pro50 and Logan Cup, Manicaland Mountaineers are set to take on expensively-assembled Matabeleland Tuskers at Bulawayo’s Queens Sports Club.
Tuskers emerged as the side that benefited the most from the dissolution of Masvingo’s Southern Rocks as they snatched Luke Jongwe, Brian Vitori, Richmond Mutumbami and Tafadzwa Kamungozi who all joined the Bulawayo franchise.
Mountaineers are now under the guidance of new coach Shepherd Makunura and they also acquired five players – Tinashe Panyangara, Charles Kunje, Victor Nyauchi and brothers Innocent and Roy Kaia.
Also tomorrow in Harare, Mashonaland Eagles host Mid-West Rhinos at Old Hararians Sports Club .
The Eagles were also hunting during the season break with Ryan Burl, Trevor Garwe and Greg Lamb joining the Harare side.
