A BULAWAYO cyclist died from suspected head injuries after being involved in a hit-and-run accident along Plumtree Road on Monday.
Police spokesperson for Bulawayo Inspector Mandlenkosi Moyo yesterday confirmed that Kutsirai Muzezera, whose age could not be established by the time of going to print, was hit by a Toyota Quantum driven by Shelton Madzore (28) near Donnington Police Station on Monday.

When Chronicle arrived at the scene, Muzezera was lying in a pool of blood with bruises on his limbs and head.
Witnesses said the driver of the car that hit him sped away without stopping.

Insp Moyo said: “I can confirm that a cyclist identified as Kutsirai Muzezera was hit by a car. He sustained serious head injuries and died on the way to United Bulawayo Hospitals.”

Madzore has since been arrested and is assisting the police with investigations.
Insp Moyo advised the public to surrender themselves when they get involved in accidents and not flee.

He said, “Now Madzore will be charged with culpable homicide and also failing to render assistance to the police.”
