REVIVING the economy will take the centre stage at the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI) annual congress to be held in Bulawayo next week, CZI chief executive Mr Clifford Sileya, has said. He said more than 100 delegates are expected to attend the three day congress.“We are well prepared for the congress and everything is in place,” he said.
Mr Sileya said they were expecting delegates from the government particularly from ministries aligned to economic matters and also from the private sector. “We are expecting about 150 delegates from both the private sector and the government ministries,” he said.
He said a number of international and local speakers had been invited to speak during the course of the congress.
Mr Sileya said there would be an exhibition which will run concurrently with the congress where companies were free to participate.
“Apart from the congress, there will be an exhibition where companies will display their products. I am inviting all companies to take part in it because we will not charge them anything, it will be free of charge,” he said.
The congress will run from 9 to 11 October under the theme “Imperatives for reversing de-industrialisation.”
He said this year’s congress was a special one because it will focus on the re-industrialisation of the city and see how growth can be achieved.
