THE Northern Region Division One soccer league leadership is today expected to pass a decision concerning the abandoned match between Mushowani Stars and Lake Harvest.
The match could not take place two weeks ago when Lake Harvest failed to travel to Madziva due to financial constraints following the withdrawal of their sponsors.
Earlier on, the league’s chairman Willard Manyengavana had said that they were waiting for communication from the club to make a proper decision since they were not certain if the Kariba-based side would be able to continue competing in the league.
But now that Lake Harvest have indicated that there is a potential sponsor coming on board and they will continue to play in the league, Manyengavana said they are going to meet as a board to decide on the way forward.
For their game against Herentals that was set for last weekend, Lake Harvest requested for the match to be rescheduled while they regroup as most of their players had left for their respective bases after the withdrawal of their sponsor.
“We are going to discuss it tomorrow (today). We are going to take a position as a league. We only got to know of their problem after they had failed to travel. We are yet to decide on the fate of that match.
“Yes they told us their sponsors have pulled out but they did not tell us that they were not going to fulfil that match.
