ZAPU leader Dr Dumiso Dabengwa says he will take the legal route to evict people occupying his Rudy Farm in Umguza district, Matabeleland North, and warned that their actions were tantamount to a declaration of war.
Invaders claiming to be Zanu-PF members invaded Dr Dabengwa’s farm for the second time on Monday after doing so last week.
“I was in Beitbridge yesterday and could not go there. I went there today and they are still there,” he told Chronicle.

“I approached the police today and asked why they had not acted on the matter and they told me that they had not heard about it. They also said they had no fuel so I had to assist them with mine. They promised to go there tomorrow (today).”

Dr Dabengwa said last week he reported the very same invaders and when police approached them they apologised and left.
“I approached the police last week who summoned the leader of the invaders. I told them that the farm belonged to me as I had bought it with my money. They apologised and left only to come back on Monday,” he said.

Dr Dabengwa said he approached the Zanu-PF leaders in Bulawayo who distanced themselves from the invaders.
“These are the same people who invaded the Bulawayo City Council owned Mazwi Sanctuary,” he said.

Dr Dabengwa said the invaders were approached by the Zanu-PF Bulawayo provincial leaders at Mazwi, but they shouted them down and vowed to stay put.
He said if the police fail to remove the invaders, he would approach the High Court to get legal recourse.

“If the High Court fails then that would be a declaration of war because I was not given that farm. I bought it with my money. That farm is a result of my sweat,” Dr Dabengwa said.
