Dairibord Holdings’ sales volume surged 18 percent year on year, driven by strong performance across its entire product range and the improving economic stability.
The company saw robust growth across various categories, led by beverages, which recorded a 28 percent surge, driven by the strong performance of Pfuko, Natural Joy, Cascade and foods.
The sales volumes also grew on the back of standout performances from Yummy yoghurt and Rabroy tomato sauce, which continue to resonate with consumers, contributing to the overall growth.
Liquid milks saw a modest one percent volume growth, with Lacto recording a 23 percent increase.
In contrast, UHT and Steri milk experienced seven and nine percent declines, respectively.
Exports accounted for 8 percent of total sales, slightly down from nine percent in the comparable period last year.
This shift is attributed to the company’s strategic focus on prioritising the domestic market to meet growing demand.
Concentrating on local needs will allow Dairibord to solidify its position in the market.
“Relative currency stability prevailed in the first half of 2025, boosting market confidence.
“As a result, sales volume was 18 percent ahead of the prior year, driven by growth across all categories, while exports accounted for eight percent of total sales,” said Dairibord in the half-year trading update.
Correspondingly, Dairibord’s revenue rose 18 percent compared to the same period last year, directly fueled by the surge in sales volume.
According to Dairibord, overall margins faced pressure due to the high cost of doing business, but the company managed to edge up its Profit Before Tax (PBT) margin to three percent.
These developments come at a time when Dairibord is making investments in technology to boost efficiency, with 2025 capital expenditure projects on track for completion by the fourth quarter, including the commissioning of new equipment.
It also intends to invest in innovation as it aims to stay competitive and meet evolving consumer needs.
Among its strategic initiatives, Dairibord indicated that it will be expanding its export presence and will provide new opportunities for revenue generation.
