Daniel Lasker’s One Piece sails into Netflix’s global Top 10

Bulawayo-born actor Daniel Lasker continues to make Zimbabwe proud after Netflix revealed that its hit live-action series One Piece is ranked as the seventh most-watched show globally during the first half of 2026.
According to Netflix’s latest What We Watched report, the fantasy adventure series pulled in 47 million views, cementing its place among the streaming giant’s biggest productions.
Netflix also revealed that the franchise continues to enjoy strong support from viewers, with the first two seasons recording a combined 69 million views during the reporting period.
Lasker, who plays the flamboyant Marine officer Helmeppo, has become one of Zimbabwe’s most recognisable faces on the international screen.
His role in the globally acclaimed series has won him praise from fans across the world and continues to raise the country’s profile in the international film industry.
With One Piece continuing to attract millions of viewers across the globe, Lasker is steadily cementing his place among Zimbabwe’s most successful actors on the international stage.
