A HIGH-LEVEL Danish business delegation is in the country to explore investment opportunities in food systems, agriculture and clean energy.
The delegation is meeting officials from the Ministries of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Energy and Power Development, Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion and Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
The Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) is expected to present the country’s investment opportunities and international partnerships, while ZimTrade will tackle export and trade facilitation.
Financial institutions and other private sector players will share finance and investment opportunities in the country.
Zimbabwe is expected to establish investment opportunities that will increase the country’s exports to Denmark and tilt the trade position from deficit to surplus.
Led by Afrika Consultancy chief executive, Mrs Florence Charamba Christensen, a Zimbabwean entrepreneur based in Denmark for 26 years, the delegation includes seven world-class Danish companies.
The delegation’s visit coincides with the Africa-Nordic Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Victoria Falls from the second to the third of October and will provide a platform for business and diplomatic engagement.
Denmark’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, is expected to attend today’s meeting in Harare.
“This delegation brings together some of Denmark’s most innovative companies and investors, aligned with Zimbabwe’s growth priorities,” Mrs Christensen said.
“We are confident this engagement will open new opportunities that benefit both our countries and help address pressing challenges in food security, sustainable energy and industrial development.”
Among the Danish Companies involved are; Cimbria – a global leader in post-harvest processing technologies, Engsko – an international supplier of grinding mills and milling plants, Poultry Processing Solutions – supplier of end-to-end equipment for poultry processing, Danish Impact Investment Fund (IFU) – which, is seeking investments in sustainable food systems, healthcare, green energy and financial services, Farmers’ Cooperative a producer of potato starch and modified food starches, DanBred one of the world’s leading pig breeding company with 120 years of genetic expertise and Renewable Energy Developers which is advancing clean energy solutions across Africa.
The delegation aims to strengthen Zimbabwe-Denmark trade and investment ties, focusing on sustainable development and impactful partnerships.
Mrs Christensen said the engagement will open new opportunities benefiting both countries and addressing pressing challenges in food security, sustainable energy and industrial development.
