Two other teams, one from How Mine and another from Nkulumane, are also said to be interested in joining the Wayne Brandt-chaired association which will bring the total number of teams to 18.
Ah-Sat won the league title last season with Bosso coming second in a season that was a two-horse race.
Association organising secretary and spokesman Lethukuthula Nkomo said the initial registration day was Wednesday last week but it was felt the day had to be pushed forward so as to coincide with the captains’ meeting.
“Even though the day was pushed forward, we had about four teams registering last week with Khami being the first to bring their documents to us. We realised that some people are yet to be paid and as such teams might not be having the necessary funds,” said Nkomo.
League games are expected to start mid-February with the first provincial trials for the Easter Holidays Tournament set for 3 March where 16 players will be selected for the second round of qualifiers.
