THE National Darts Association of Zimbabwe (Ndaz) has introduced a development training course as part of its growth initiative projects, ahead of this year’s edition of the National Closed Heroes Day Darts competition set for Milton High School.
The training programme will be held on 11 August, with the tournament running until 15 August. Preparations are already at full throttle and all the logistics set, according to Ndaz secretary-general Stephen Mwarindira.
“All is set, we are ready for the day. Preparations are on course and we are happy to say we are ready. Nine provinces will take part at this year’s edition of the competition. Masvingo Province have said they will not be part of the event while the rest of the provinces have confirmed participation. There will be teams in the senior men and women’s category.
We will also have the junior men and women’s taking part. We are looking forward to this event which will see the best talent in the country on display.”
At last year’s competition the Bulawayo duo of Bright Mabuza and Joshua Jabangwe scooped gold in the open doubles, beating Salesio Gunda and Othenial Makwara from Manicaland. In the closed doubles, Mgcini Nkala and Garai Simbanegavi won gold after beating Kudzie Nyemba and Tawanda Hodzi of Mashonaland West, who came on his personal capacity. — @innocentskizoe.
