FIFTEEN clubs will feature in the 2016 Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Darts Association League that starts tomorrow at various venues dotted around the city. Old Nic Mine were deregistered from the league due to non-payment of affiliation fees. Wise Waters will make a return to the league after a year’s absence, while Imbizo Barracks make their debut.
BMPDA secretary Julius Ncube said the addition of Wise Waters and Imbizo represented a form of development for the game.
“This shows that the sport is growing. We hope the new additions will also stiffen competition this year, and hopefully Wise Waters haven’t lost their competitiveness,” said Ncube.
Defending champions Railstars will open their 2016 account against Imbizo, while last year’s runners-up Archers start the season with a bye and Maison Nic will take on Zimbabwe School of Mines. Highlanders will renew their rivalry with Wise Waters, ZRP Bulawayo will face Bellevue and Support Unit Fairbridge will square off against How Mine. Lions date Kanka and Queens take on Khami.
