THE Bulawayo Provincial Pool Association (BPPA) End of Year Awards will be held at a local sports club on Saturday.
BBPA secretary-general Nomore Muzvidziwa said all teams will be represented by their nominated executive members.
“The BPPA family is advised that the 2025 prize giving and awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, 3 January, 2026 at Queens Sports Club,” said Muzvidziwa.
“Starting time will be 12 noon and all teams will be represented by their nominated executive members who shall receive the prizes on behalf of their clubs.
“The names of the club representatives are to be forwarded to the BPPA treasurer Thomas Muguyo during the course of the week,” said Muzvidziwa.
He said it is going to be a memorable day as both teams and individual players across the province will be recognised for their outstanding performances in various spheres of the game.
“Therefore, everyone in the BPPA family is hereby invited to join the rest in celebrating the successes of 2025,” said Muzvidziwa.
It was another season that was dominated by Queens Pool Academy and Entumbane with the association managing to successfully play host to the Independence Cup, Heroes Cup, Singles Tournament and Champion of Champions contest in between the league games.
These have turned out to be annual tournaments, attracting large crowds at various centres dotted around the City of Kings and Queens.
The pool sport in Zimbabwe is on a positive trajectory, with significant developments and support from various stakeholders that include the Government.
Pool has also become a popular pastime and a means of survival for many in Zimbabwe, especially among the youth.
It has evolved from being a minority sport to a respected competitive sport enjoyed by the community.
It has managed to keep thousands of youths away from drug and substance abuse. — @FungaiMuderere
