BULAWAYO’S last motoring event of the year, the Three-Hour Endurance race will be staged on December 3, with the country’s top drivers expected to compete at the ultimate contest.
Bulawayo Motorsport Park, formerly known as the Victoria Falls Road Circuit will play host to the event that attracts thousands of motoring fanatics.
The Bulawayo Motoring Club announced the dates for the ultimate race on their social media platforms.
“Bulawayo Motorsport Park will host the Three-Hour Endurance on the 3rd of December. The bikes one-hour competition starts at 12:30pm with the main 3-hour competition taking off at 3pm,” reads the post.
In the past years, the Three-Hour Endurance race had car drivers and superbike riders from South Africa, Australia, Germany and Zimbabwe battling it out for honours.
The event will start with the sprint races followed by the one-hour bike racing and then the main event, the three-hour race for car drivers.
Some of the notable drivers to have competed at the premium motor racing event in Bulawayo include 2017 South African Endurance Series National Class T champions Wayne Jardine and Mike Verrier who shared a Shelby Can Am powered by a Nissan V6, 3.5 litre engine.
Bulawayo’s favourite, Darren Winterboer who won the three-hour endurance race a record six times and holds the record number of laps of 127 for this race, Denzil Bhana, Darren Pragji, Bob Beaver and Stuart Young, all from the City of Kings are some of the drivers who have illuminated the stage.
