ZIMBABWE’S top golfer Brendon de Jonge made his second cut of the season at the CIMB Classic at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club in Malaysia yesterday.
De Jonge also made the cut and finished 13th in Las Vegas last week.
He had impressive rounds of 69 and 69 for a six-under total in his first two rounds in Malaysia.
The 12-way tie saw De Jonge trailing the leader Thomas by nine shots going into today’s third round.
De Jonge’s next stop will be the Australia Open where he will play in the same field with Ryan Cains.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s Ben Follet-Smith recorded his third top 25 finish this week as the Mississippi State men’s golf team turned in a team scorecard of 293 to finish ninth at the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational.
Headlining the MSU scorecard, Ben Follett-Smith shot a final round five-over-par 77 to finish tied for 21st.
He has now posted three Top 25 finishes in the season, the most of any Bulldog.
