Deadly assault suspect steals victim’s cell phone

A 27-year-old man of Norton, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a person twice in the throat with a knife and stealing the victim’s phone.
In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe said “Sauro Shezha (27) of Jingxton Plot, Norton appeared before a Norton Magistrate facing murder charges.
“Allegations are that on the 20th of August 2024, the accused person stabbed the now deceased, Matanhire Nyikadzino twice with a knife on the throat, resulting in his death. The accused person was found in possession of the deceased’s phone.
“He was remanded in custody to the 5th of September 2024 and was advised to apply bail at the High Court.”
