A BEER-SHARING dispute at a Chipinge nightclub ended in bloodshed after a 25-year-old woman was brutally attacked and later died from her injuries.
Wilton Dhasayi (34) of Maronga Village appeared before the Chipinge Magistrates’ Court facing murder charges following the violent incident at Mabidoo Night Club.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the incident occurred on 7 August 2025 around 10PM. Patricia Sithole, the now deceased, was offered beer by a fellow patron. Dhasayi allegedly claimed the beer was his and refused to share, sparking a heated altercation.
The NPA said Dhasayi “slapped her and dragged her to a corner where he kicked and pushed her.” During the scuffle, Sithole bit off part of his left ear before managing to escape.
But the accused would not back down. He allegedly chased her outside, dragged her back to the veranda and unleashed more violence. In a chilling twist, he “broke a window, used a piece of glass to stab her in the stomach and then hit her on the head with an empty bottle.”
Other patrons restrained him and Sithole was rushed to St. Peters Mission Hospital before being transferred to Victoria Chitepo Hospital. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries the same day.
Dhasayi has been remanded in custody to 28 August 2025.
