DELEGATES for the 2026 SADC Sustainable Energy Week (SEW) have begun arriving for the regional energy indaba, which officially kicks off on Monday in Victoria Falls.
The first high-level delegation to touch down was from the Kingdom of Eswatini.
His Royal Highness Prince Lonkhokhela, the Minister of Natural Resources and Energy, arrived on Sunday afternoon accompanied by his Permanent Secretary.
The incoming delegations are being welcomed by the Minister of Energy and Power Development, July Moyo.
The Minister is leading the host country’s preparations for what is expected to be a significant regional energy gathering.
The 2026 SADC Sustainable Energy Week, running from 23 to 27 February, is the premier annual platform for advancing investment, cooperation and knowledge exchange in sustainable energy across Southern Africa.
Endorsed by SADC Energy Ministers, this year’s theme is: Driving Regional Economic Growth through Clean Energy and Energy Efficiency.
The event will bring together stakeholders from across the energy ecosystem, including government ministries, policymakers, regulators, private sector companies and financiers.
High on the agenda are discussions on regional transmission infrastructure, energy efficiency policies and the integration of clean cooking solutions.
The week will feature several first-time highlights, including presentations on National Energy Compacts and an awards ceremony to recognise outstanding regional projects.
The event is hosted by Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Energy and Power Development, the SADC Secretariat and the SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE).
