EIGHTY-SIX students have benefited from a $1,5 million annual bursary programme by Delta Corporation Limited, which is part of its goals to enhance and grow livelihoods.
The beneficiaries are Advanced Level students and those starting tertiary education. Each of the country’s 10 provinces sends three names for selection, with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education helping in the selection of students.
Speaking at the bursary induction in Harare on Wednesday, Delta senior corporate affairs head Ms Patricia Murambinda said: “May this day mark the beginning of a new era in education in your lives and may it inspire more initiatives to improve the process of teaching and learning. You are our future.”
The beverages manufacturer has channelled $25 million towards the bursary scheme, which has assisted disadvantaged students in the last 15 years.
