DeMbare, FC Platinum clash at Babourfields

DYNAMOS will fly to Bulawayo for their Premier Soccer League match against FC Platinum on Saturday, as they begin to adjust to pressures that come with hosting matches away from home.

DeMbare have adopted Barbourfields as their new home while the National Sports Stadium is undergoing renovations.

They host defending champions FC Platinum on Saturday.

According to club vice chairperson Vincent Chawonza, the team will fly to Bulawayo the morning of the match.

“A delegation of 28 players and officials will travel to Bulawayo by air on Saturday morning, around 6.30am, and return the following day.

“We are trying to curb fatigue as we will also play Chicken Inn at Barbourfields next week,” said Chawonza.

After playing the Gamecocks, DeMbare will travel to Chiredzi to play Green Fuel.

After navigating his way through a two-match ultimatum, Dynamos coach Herbert Maruwa now focuses on FC Platinum, who have been on a roll in recent weeks.

Pure Platinum Play have won their last four league matches and are third on the log with 24 points, two behind leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars going into Match Day 14.

DeMbare are now fifth with 21 points after winning their last two matches against ZPC Kariba and Black Rhinos.

The Harare giants have scored five goals in their last two games, a decent return for a team that has been struggling for goals this term.

Striker Eli Ilunga finally opened his account for DeMbare in last weekend’s 2-1 win over Black Rhinos at Bata Stadium in Gweru.
