DeMbare ready for Champs league

Champions League campaign and revealed a positive selection headache for the coaches.
The Harare giants will host Algerian outfit Mouloudia Club Alger in the first round, first leg at Rufaro on Sunday.
DeMbare – who are ranked the ninth best team in Africa – received a bye in the preliminary round but will now be put to the test by the Algerians.
Dinyero, however, certified his team ready for Sunday’s battle and hinted that no one was guaranteed a place in the African Safari squad.
Dinyero said the technical team, led by head coach Lloyd Mutasa are still weighing their options on their playing personnel for the tie at Rufaro on Sunday.
On paper the Harare giants appear to have a well-knit unit in defence and midfield although their strike force is not as fluid.
Dynamos have been left with limited options in attack after Evans Gwekwerere left to join CAPS United, leaving Rodrick Mutuma and Patrick Kumbula as the two natural strikers in the registered squad.
The two players have never played an international match before and could buckle under a lot of expectations if thrown into the fray.
Martin Vengesayi has not been included in the squad but Mutasa appears unmoved as he can bank on attacking midfielders in Archieford Gutu, Denver Mukamba, Farayi Vimisayi and Nicholas Arufandika.
Dynamos have been unbeaten in all their pre-season games but the team lacked the flair from their previous games when they were stretched to a penalty shoot-out by Motor Action in a NetOne Charity Shield tie at Rufaro on Sunday.
Mutasa had rested Mukamba, Gutu, George Magariro, David Kutyauripo, Gift Bello and Tawanda Muparati for the Charity Shield but the players are likely to bounce back into the team on Sunday when changes are reigned.
“Everything is okay so far.
“We have not yet settled on the players because we still have time to train.
“Maybe we will have an idea on Friday,” said Dinyero.
Yesterday morning Dynamos trained at the match venue and were hoping to have another run in the afternoon but had to give way to Motor Action who will also use the facility.
Zimbabwe champions Motor Action take on crack Ivorian side Asec Mimosa in another first round tie on Saturday.
Initially, Motor Action had appeared set to play their match at the National Sports Stadium but considered Rufaro as more central for the fans.
With the Mighty Bulls also using Rufaro, it has created a tight schedule on the use of the venue for four clubs.
“We had to cancel our training session in the afternoon because Motor Action have also booked to use the ground.
“But we will train at Rufaro in the morning (today),” said Dinyero.
Zifa chief executive Jonathan Mashingaidze released a statement that the two games will be at Rufaro within 24 hours of each other.
“It’s beyond us.
“At least both teams would have a chance to train at the match venue,” said Mashingaidze.
While Mutasa and his lieutenants are preparing the team, the Dynamos executive said they are working hard to ensure the best preparations for the team.
Dynamos vice-chairman Kenny Mubaiwa said gate charges have remained at a modest US$3 dollars for the rest of the ground.
“As the executive, we are fully behind the team.
“The players have been playing some good attacking football during the pre-season games and the coaches have done a good job so far.
“So far it had been good football with a passing game.
“We want fans to come and rally behind the team and have kept the charges at US$3 for the rest of the ground and US$5 for the western stands.
“The VIP is US$10 and I hope fans can afford these charges,” said Mubaiwa.
MC Alger are expected to arrive today and have coach Noureddine Zekri who will be making his second visit to Harare in as many years after guiding Entete du Sportive Setif against Dynamos last year.
In the match at Rufaro last August, a Wonder Sithole effort gave Dynamos a 1-0 win and Setif director Abdelhkom Serrar immediately sacked Zekri.
Now Zekri will be hoping for better fortunes against the Zimbabwean giants as it appears his previous knowledge of DeMbare swayed MC Alger into giving him the coaching job.
Zekri replaced Frenchman Alain Michael who was fired last week over poor results.
MC Alger are one of the oldest clubs in Algeria and are based in the capital Algiers.
The side was established 1921 and are regarded by many as the most popular football team in Algeria.
They use Stade 5 Julliet 1962 (July 5 Stadium) as their home ground and the venue, which staged the 2007 All-Africa Games opening and closing ceremonies has a capacity of 80 000.
MC Alger boast of having won the league championship seven times.
They are the defending league champions but are wallowing near the bottom of the log due to a current poor run and Dynamos could just add to their woes.
MC Alger, have national team goalkeeper Mohammed Lamine Zemmanouche while skipper Reda Babouche is one of the most experienced members of the side. The Algerians have also registered striker Zinnedine Bensalem and the midfield duo of Hanza Kaoudri and Farid Douda.
