HARARE giants Dynamos are wasting no time to prepare for next season.
The Glamour Boys, who announced they will part ways with coach Tonderai Ndiraya when his contract expires at the end of next month, are already on the market for a replacement and are also chasing new players that include the exciting former Zimbabwe youth international Calum English-Brown.
Sources told The Herald yesterday that DeMbare are also after impressive young forward Jaden Bakare, who along with English-Brown, distinguished themselves at WhaWha this season despite their team eventually getting relegated.
Dynamos have also been monitoring Manica Diamonds’ Nyasha Chintuli.
The Harare giants are likely to rope in former Dynamos development coach Hebert Maruwa as their next coach.
Maruwa gained experience coaching in the Swaziland topflight league before returning home to join Black Rhinos in 2018, and lately Harare City.
Dynamos announced this week that Ndiraya’s contract will not be renewed, after three years at the helm. The jury is still out on whether he was successful in his second stint at the helm of the team.
But Ndiraya, through his business manager Gerald Maguranyanga, yesterday said he left with a clear conscience after leading the team to a third place finish in the just-ended season.
“For the record: Ndiraya officially assumed his football leadership role at the club in 2019 May. Due to Covid19, the PSL League for 2020 was cancelled. Only the Chibuku Super Cup was competed for in 2021 and 2022 was Ndiraya’s supposed full season in charge.
“Sadly, the same 2022 season was hampered by an untimely mid-season suspension; which ill-timed suspension created intolerable anxiety amongst the players and the coaching staff at the club.
“Ndiraya endured the unfortunate suspension when the club was sitting pretty on top of the PSL Log. Naturally, such unsettling action affected the team’s subsequent performances.
“Whilst the final position three of 18 achieved by Dynamos FC on the PSL log was not glorious, it is also not an abject failure considering the prevailing difficult conditions of service at Dynamos FC.
“Ndiraya is warmly indebted to the Dynamos FC executive committee, led by Mr Isaiah Mupfurutsa,” said Maguranyanga.
