WITH their league title hopes fading, Dynamos captain Shadreck Nyahwa says the Harare giants will turn to the Chibuku Super Cup in pursuit of a fourth successive crown.
Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Chicken Inn at Rufaro ended the Glamour Boys’ 15-match unbeaten league run and left them 11 points behind leaders Scottland with seven matches remaining.
“Our chances are few, but as Dynamos we do not give up. We still have games to play, and we have to focus on winning those games,” said Nyahwa.
“We cannot control what other teams are doing. We can only control our own performances.”
Dynamos have won the Chibuku Super Cup in each of the past three seasons.
“The Chibuku Super Cup is also very important to us. We want to win it for a fourth consecutive year, and that is a big motivation for everyone in the team,” said Nyahwa.
“We know what it means to the supporters and to the club. We have to prepare well for every game.”
Nyahwa also acknowledged Chicken Inn’s reputation as a difficult opponent for Dynamos, particularly at Rufaro.
“Chicken Inn has always been a bogey side for Dynamos, especially at Rufaro,” he said.
“We spoke about it as a team, but we cannot continue dwelling on the result.
“As captain, I have to keep encouraging the boys. We have to remain united because there is still something to fight for this season.”
