GOAL-LINE TECHNOLOGY was probably needed earlier this afternoon to prevent the chaos that led to the abandonment of the Castle Lager Premiership match between Dynamos and hosts Chegutu Pirates at Baobab Stadium.

The match officials had to call off the game after the home team refused to restart the match in protest against DeMbare’s goal in added time.

Match commissioner Brighton Mudzamiri confirmed the match was called off because of Pirates’ refusal to continue with the game after an almost 20-minute stoppage.

After a frustrating afternoon in front of goal, DeMbare felt a relieved lot after they scored the winning goal in the 97th minute from a fortuitous strike by Donald Dzvinyai.

Pirates players and officials protested that the ball did not cross the line.
