The event has grown significantly since its launch in Zimbabwe in 2023, when only 35 students participated.
In 2024, the competition expanded to four provinces, with one Zimbabwean team travelling to Turkey to represent the country at the international finals.

Last year, participation expanded to all 10 provinces, with a 24-member delegation comprising five teams from five provinces representing Zimbabwe at the international finals in Singapore.

Deputy Minister Phuti is touring exhibition stands where participating students are demonstrating their projects and innovations before he confers awards on the winners.

The competition provides a platform for students to develop practical skills in robotics, technology, innovation, teamwork and problem-solving while encouraging greater interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
