IN an outstanding display of academic excellence, Destiny Learning Centre in Bulawayo has achieved a 100 percent pass rate in the recently released Zimsec Grade 7 results.
This achievement is a testament to the school’s commitment to providing quality education and nurturing the academic potential of its learners. The school opened its doors in 2015 and has two centres in Bulawayo. One is located in Belmont while the other is in Pumula South suburb.
The school’s director, Mr Chrophet Muchinezuro, attributed the school’s success to maintaining small class sizes, allowing for personalised attention and focused learning.
“Destiny Learning Centre has maintained a perfect track record of 100 percent pass rates in the Grade 7 results since its opening in 2015. One of our key strengths lies in maintaining very small class sizes, allowing for personalised attention and focused learning. Additionally, the school provides incentives for teachers to ensure motivation and dedication in delivering quality education to the students,” said Mr Muchinezuro.
Destiny Learning Centre follows the Zimsec curriculum and offers a wide range of extracurricular activities including coding, business clubs focusing on foundational business concepts, music and public speaking. These activities help nurture well-rounded learners who are not only focused on academia.
The school is actively developing its infrastructure to accommodate more learners, with plans to construct an additional six classroom blocks at the Pumula South branch.
Destiny Learning Centre has since fully developed its administration block and will be developing grounds for recreational and sports activities in the coming year.
Mr Muchinezuro said plans were afoot to establish branches in every city across the country, with existing branches already in Harare and Zvishavane. The school’s vision for expansion is a revelation of its commitment to making quality education accessible across the country. With an enrolment of 300 learners, Destiny Learning Centre anticipates an increase in enrolment to 500 pupils next year.

Top performers this year were; Haefen Mazviro (6 units), Tawana Ndlovu (6 units), Anold Masimba (6 units), Luyanda Nyoni (7 units), Cavin Chandiwana (7 units), Ivy Mazhindu (9 units), Nkosi Mpunzi (9 units), Boitumelo Dube (10 units), Nina Ncube (10 units), Andile Khabo (10 units), Brave Machingauta (10 units).
