BULAWAYO based gospel group Destiny Praise will this Saturday perform at the Alliance Church youth camp, to be held at Founders High School in Bulawayo. The group, which is still new on the gospel music front, gave a polished and neatly organised performance last month, which won them many hearts in the city. In an interview, one of the group leaders, Abraham Morrison Lungu said fans enjoyed their concert last month and they are back by public demand, but this time they will be performing at Alliance Church youth camp.

“We will be holding a number of shows in the coming months. From our first show up to now, we have received invitations from a number of organisations and promoters. This weekend we will be preaching the gospel through music at Alliance Church youth camp,” he said.

This show will be for free to fans and the group will be using it as a marketing strategy.
“We are still growing and our fan base is getting bigger with each show. This event will be a marketing event, we want churches in and around Bulawayo to know of us and we have targeted the youth as our main fans. We will give another strong performance on Saturday and I would like to encourage fans to come watch us in their large numbers,” he said.

The group is dominated by people from different denominations. It is moulded in the same way as the famous South African outfit Joyous Celebrations and at this concert there will be new members.

Again new songs will be sung at this concert as the group avoids repeating songs and keep their fans guessing.
“We will bring new faces and new songs as this concert will be different from the worship concert we had last month. We are a big group with different artistes from different churches and this makes us unique,” added Lungu.

He encouraged fans not to miss this opportunity of praising and worshiping God and at the same time hearing the word of God.

“This is a chance for people from different places of worship to come together and worship in one place. All Christians should come see us in action. Alliance Praise and Worship team will also provide entertainment,” he said.

At their previous concert, performances by Paul Siwela, Anasti Zabura, Lorraine Mplanka and Victor Sithothombe left fans asking for more. It is now up to the new guys to maintain the standards set by singers at their first concert.
