Favour is a supernatural empowerment of God in an individual’s life. It distinguishes you and makes you stand out among the rest. It’s so real, tangible and strong such that nothing can stop you when it rests on your life. However, favour like any other provision of heaven does not work without faith. There is a kind of faith that draws favour on one’s life. Even though the year is fast winding up, determined faith will grab your miracle before the year is out, favour! It’s the kind of faith that was on the Moabites’ woman named Ruth.
It paved a way for her, right to the genealogy of the Lord Jesus Christ even though she was not a Jew. That kind of favour when it comes upon your life, qualifies the unqualified, but it takes an enduring and persistent faith to function in it. 2016 is still your way! It is not over until it’s over!
And she (Naomi) said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law. And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go: and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me. When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.’ Ruth 1:15-18.
Ruth was a daughter in law of Naomi whose family had gone to so-journey in Moab because of famine in Israel.
Unfortunately Naomi’s husband Elimelech died in Moab.
The two sons of Naomi, Mahlon and Chilion then married Ruth and Orpah who were Moabites. Disappointingly these two sons also die, leaving Naomi only with her two daughter-in laws, Ruth and Orpah.
Upon staying with the two women for some time, Naomi decides to release them to go back to their countrymen and start new lives — drought also had ended in Bethlehem.
It is at this point that decisions had to be made. Both for a moment said they would not let go nor give up, until Orpah, finally consented and let go. She made up her mind and waved good bye to the old lady Naomi.
However, something else was boiling and burning in Ruth.
In her heart was something, there was a strong faith, a faith that sees a door where others see no door or future; a faith that sees healthy babies where the doctors have diagnosed infertility; a faith that see heaps of bills being fully paid where other are being hospitalised due to stress and high Blood Pressure (BP)!
Friend, there is a kind of faith that knows no failure nor ‘No’ in life. It has no reverse gear nor second thoughts on its goal and destiny. It’s the kind of faith that is tenacious and draws favour! Favour is not ordinary — it’s supernatural and is drawn by faith! Have you been living a miserable life and experiencing persistent hurting situations? Have faith in God. Your area of disadvantage can be turned around into success; the history of failure in your family can suddenly be changed into a prosperous story. Probably you are struggling with alcohol, drugs or one of the ongoing habit — wanting to quit yet sinking the more. I have a good word for you — it can be turned around in the powerful name of Jesus! You can overcome. You can win and conquer it with the faith that draws favour! You can live happily with your spouse again! You can have your family, business and project back together again. Yes, you can do it. There is a faith that draws favour! Let it come your way and turn around your sad story into good news in Jesus name!
Seeing the determination of Ruth, Naomi had no option but to go back to Israel with the resilient young woman.
My friend, determination moves God. He cannot ignore it. At one time in history men conceived an idea. It was to build a tower and a city whose top would reach heaven. God watched them from the heavens. The people were so united, serious and determined about their project so much such that God had to interrupt them before they reached heaven for the Bible records that, ‘and the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them . . . let us go down and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech’ Genesis 11:5-7. Determination is a key that unlocks faith that draws favour and turns around your circumstances. Be determined to be well; to have a good marriage; to clear your debt; to get a job; to live right — and whatever it is you want in life – be determined!
Finally Ruth’s faith gave birth. It connected her to Boaz, a rich Jewish man of the lineage of the Lord Jesus Christ, which made Ruth a great grandmother to the Messiah. Jews were there but they missed the valuable opportunity, honour and legacy to be in Christ’s genealogy! Ruth a Moabite, who were considered outcasts, dogs and far from God got her story-line changed by the faith that draws favour! It’s favour to be connected to Jesus. I challenge you today; whatever it is that you have been going through it can be reversed and turned around! Be determined; be steadfast and resolute in your faith to God. He is able, faithful and willing to get your situation changed not only for the good but for the best. Receive the faith that draws favour in your life now in Jesus name! For with God all things are possible, Mark 10:27
