Dhewa returns to Chitungwiza

maestro Tongai Moyo returns to the town.
The gig, set for this Friday at the Club Warehouse in what promises to be an explosive night of sungura music fiesta will also feature the self-proclaimed “Prince of Sungura” – First Farai.
The show is also part of Dhewa’s comeback shows since his health worsened owing to his cancer condition.
Tongai last performed in Chitungwiza alongside Oliver Mtukudzi, Alick Macheso, Suluman Chimbetu and Freddy “Kapfupi” Manjalima at a show organised by Chipaz Promotions. “Muchina Muhombe” as he is best known in music circles promises a thrilling show for his ever growing fan base. The icing on the cake will certainly be the roping in of the talented First Farai at the show.
While Dhewa is riding high with his latest album “Toita Basa”, Farai on the other hand, is also holding his own with the album “Experience”, that is topping the charts at Diamond Studios.
Joe Munyebvu, who is promoting the show said the Chitungwiza affair is not one to miss.
“We are currently taking Dhewa on a whirlwind tour of the country to show his fans that the man is still as active and energetic as ever, despite having health problems.
“He has recovered and these shows are meant to bring him closer to his legion of fans, especially those who were not able to watch him in action during his comeback shows that were held in Harare most recently,” said Munyebvu, the brains behind Joe Promotions.
Munyebvu also heaped praise on Farai, whom he described as an enormously talented artiste.
“Farai complements Dhewa well on stage and this is promising to be one of those treats, especially if you have listened to the way Farai sings one of Dhewa’s songs, ‘Cheerio’.”
From Chitungwiza, Dhewa will proceed to Tendai Hall in Bindura on Saturday for another date with his fans.
The Bindura gig will come a week after Alick Macheso, Hosea Chipanga, Madiz and the Charambas had fans spellbound at the Bindura Arts Festival last Saturday. Dhewa boasts a catalogue of hit albums to his name including “Naye”, “Pinda Panyanga”, “Chingwa” and “Samanyemba” among others.
