Hwange coach Rodwell Dhlakama  admits they will not have it easy in the ZIFA Southern Region Division 1 League.

Dhlakama says the profile of the teams fighting for promotion makes the race intense.

“The competition in our league is indeed extremely fierce, particularly given the caliber of teams participating,” Dhlakama said.

“Notably, four teams have previously been in the Premier League, and three were relegated in the same season… This has significantly elevated the level of competition.”

Dhlakama highlighted the strengths of teams from the region, such as Casymn, Nkayi, and Plumtree, bringing valuable experience and expertise to the league.

“Despite the intense competition, our team remains ambitious and focused on reclaiming our rightful position . We prioritise developing local talent while attracting experienced players.” He said

Looking ahead, Dhlakama remains committed to performing well while contributing to the sports development locally.

“The league’s competitiveness is a testament to the growing strength of soccer in our region. We are committed to performing well while contributing to the sport’s development locally,” he said.
